Uganda House of Hope Orphanage 2018 Trip Dates
When Shoal Creek Church embarked on a mission trip to Uganda in 2015, our team encountered the children of Blessed School and Orphanage in the remote area of Kasese.
Every team member returned to the U.S with a burning desire to return to Uganda as soon as possible and help build a facility for these children that will provide a safe, healthy environment for their physical, educational, and spiritual growth.
In this “House of Hope” issue of Shoal Creek On Mission, learn more about how you can come alongside us and support these mission projects by GOING, PRAYING and GIVING!
Why go to Uganda to build an orphanage?
In July of 2015 Shoal Creek sent 23 people to Mbarara, Uganda to serve alongside Pastor Nassan Ibrahim at Day Star Church. This mission was a game changer for Shoal Creek Missions. The team experienced the majesty of God’s creation in a mighty way!!!
After a full week of construction, VBS, school and prison evangelism, feeding refugees and leading worship services in five different churches... the climax of our week was the trip to Kasese to Blessed School and Orphanage.
Tears rolled down our faces as we toured the campus and saw the dirt floor bunk rooms where children sleep two or three per bed because there aren’t enough beds for them all. We met the sweet ladies that cooked for the children without a kitchen, oven, or stove – just large worn pots on an open fire.
We visited the dirt floor class rooms with no desks or chairs where children sat on the ground to learn. We prayed with the teachers who lovingly taught the children, knowing they would receive little - if any - pay. Realizing that only the Lord could lead a congregation in Priceville, AL to raise over $100,000 to send 23 people to Uganda, we know that God is leading Shoal Creek back to Uganda – a nation SO hungry for the WORD of the Living Lord!!!
Join us as we go back to help Pastor Nassan and Pastor Dave construct a new orphanage building!
Ways you can help:
Go with us on our next trip! We will work with construction of the Orphanage, VBS, school evangelism, and leading worship services in local churches.
Plan your own trip! If you are interested in leading your own trip to help with various stages of construction, please contact Bro. Gary Linville at email@example.com. He will be glad to meet with you and arrange details for a customized trip for your church or small group.
We are excited that you are interested in going on a mission project with Shoal Creek Baptist Church to share the Gospel with the people of Southern Uganda. Teams will work with House of Hope and Day Star Church to minister to our children and the people of Mbarara. The team will do construction work to build the first building in the House of Hope Orphanage & School complex, minister in schools in the region, preach in churches in the area, encourage local pastors, work with Marx Optical in giving out eye glasses, conduct Vacation Bible Schools for children, and share the gospel in other ways.
